From Left to Right, Alberta Ferretti, Bar Refaeli, Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele

May 14 — Lighting up the Red Carpet of the Palais des Festivals at the opening of the Cannes Film Festival was Israeli beauty, Bar Refaeli looking radiant in Desire, a jewelry-dress designed by Chopard’s Co-President, Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele and Italian fashion designer and dressmaker, Alberta Ferretti. The lilac silk chiffon dress sparkled with 2,904 carats of precious stones draping around the neckline and down the back.  The garment was unveiled as the kick-off to a night of glamour. 

After a screening, the two designers joined their guests on the Crystal Beach Chopard for a fabulous celebration with a guest list of numerous internationally acclaimed creative feminine talents including Cate Blanchett, Mischa Barton, Amira Casar, Julianne Moore and Laura Morante just to name a few.  The evening’s musical ambience was created by Actress/Singer/DJ Julliette Lewis.

The Desire will be auctioned on May 22 at the annual amfAR gala.  It’s estimated worth, $700,000.

Thrilled by the opportunity to create together the Alberta-Caroline design team are already putting their heads together for their next piece which will be presented in September at the Venice Film Festival.  So stay tuned!

Also glittering in Chopard on opening night of the festival where her film Blindness premiered was Julianne Moore.  Julianne selected Chopard’s pave yellow and white diamond earrings and a 36 carat yellow diamond ring.  What a glorious night for her!
