The new Jaguar XF hit showroom floors March 10th, and the automotive press followed. 17-year motorsports writer Paul Seredynski drove one of the cars, then reported his experience in First Drive: 2009 Jaguar XF on MSN Autos. Seredynski found a lot to like, from muscular looks and performance to spacious and cleanly designed interior. “Few cars hit the sweet spot of stunning looks with moves to match,†Seredynski said. “With the solid, swift and sleek new XF, it looks like Jag has a winner.â€

Driving dynamics are central to Jaguar’s appeal, and with outstanding performance and handling tuned for driving enthusiasts, the XF and XK really deliver. The sequential shift system, for instance, can be operated either via gearshift or steering wheel mounted paddles; drivers select drive, sport-auto or sport-manual gearbox modes to fit road and conditions. And Trac Dynamic Stability Control electronically balances power, braking and traction to improve directional stability when cornering.
The JaguarVoiceTM command system, available as an option in the XF, provides drivers with hands-free, voice-activated controls. You can instruct the car’s navigation system, or make phone calls with a Bluetooth-enabled phone, simply by pressing the voice button on the steering wheel, and speaking. By keeping your eyes on the road, safety is enhanced. Visit Jaguar USA’s website for a detailed explanation of the system, and a list of functions.
