Nubeo’s first creation is a collection of watches inspired by the natural shapes of a basic creature, the jellyfish. With a bell shaped design, this self-winding mechanical timepiece profiles a jellyfish with its tentacle straps.Â
The bezel and the strap are the two elements of the timepiece which simulate of the essence of the legendary formation of the black medusa, melding two materials of conflicting nature, steel and rubber.
This distinct model has a stainless steel case of 35 different pieces, meticulously assembled in addition to the mechanical self-winding movement and the dial. Case sizes are 43mm and 36mm. Consisting of two sapphire glasses, the top has a slight spherical shape and the lower curved glass can be used as a window to see the finish of the movement, its mass and spiral. Both glasses have been processed with a double anti-reflective layer.
The bezel of stainless steel processed with a rubber covering has 12 inlaid numerals with a brushed matte finish. Â The avant-garde design of the case, the bezel and sphere-like glass resemble the jellyfish when it contracts to drive itself forward and swim.Â
The watch dial has three different levels and is a total of 16 assembled pieces. The central area resembles ammonite fossils, 380 million year old organisms with a spiraling, shell. The indexes are voluminous, made of steel with a superluminova piece in the center of each.
An 8mm diameter second hand is found at 9 o’clock. The matte black, white-figured calendar at 3 o’clock is framed by a steel bezel and small sapphire lens.Â
Inserted in the rubber straps are stainless steel links with a brushed matte finish. The straps are curved to easily adapt to the wrist. The screw-on steel crown has a translucent blue logo.
The “Black Jellyfish†are available in a variety of striking colors. The mother-of-pearl dial, centered spiral and straps can be seen in brown, blue, matte black, white, pink, and orange. The watch case is available in stainless steel and rose gold.Â
