Celebrity couples are known to host the most glamorous and exclusive weddings — 2007 proved to be no different.Â
Notable couples chose Platinum engagement rings and wedding bands from leading bridal designers such as Tacori and Neil Lane last year and the popularity seems to be growing!
The weddings of 2007 included Eva Longoria & Tony Parker, Katherine Heigel & Josh Kelley and Ellen Pompeo & Chris Ivery — all choosing Platinum engagement rings and wedding bands.  Platinum rings are not only the highest quality, but express the importance of a couple’s commitment to each other with the metal that will stand the test of time beyond all other metals. And in 2008 engaged couples, such as Josh Duhamel & Stacy “Fergie†Ferguson, Cash Warren & Jessica Alba and Charlie Sheen & Brooke Mueller, are sure to match their stunning Platinum engagement rings with exquisite Platinum bands for their wedding day!
Â
Today’s celebrities set the standards of quality and style for the modern bride and groom:
Josh Duhamel proposed to Stacy “Fergie†Ferguson with a classic, pure Platinum ring with no ornamentation other than a beautiful, simple round brilliant cut diamond of about 4.5 carats, valued at $150,000.
Cash Warren proposed to Jessica Alba with a classic Platinum ring with a 5-carat center diamond. The center diamond is framed by a row of micro-pave diamonds that give the simplicity of the ring a softer, more romantic feel. Her ring is valued at about $150,000.
Chris Ivery proposed to Ellen Pompeo with a Platinum 3.5-carat emerald-cut diamond engagement ring by Tacori.
Josh Kelley proposed to Katherine Heigl with a Platinum pear-shaped diamond engagement ring designed by Ryan Ryan.
Eric Cubiche proposed to Jamie Pressly with a Platinum 3-carat diamond engagement ring that the couple designed with Fourteen Karats.
Brittany Murphy received two Platinum engagement rings by Neil Lane from her hubby, Simon Monjack.
Charlie Sheen popped the question to Brooke Mueller with a Platinum 11-carat yellow diamond engagement ring by Lord Alon Barak.
Â
“Like Katherine Heigl, platinum is timeless beauty.†says jewelry designer Ryan Ryan. Â
Â
Throughout Hollywood’s history, iconic couples such as Elvis & Priscilla Presley, Grace Kelly & Prince Rainier III of Monaco, Katie Holmes & Tom Cruise, Salma Hayek & François-Henri Pinault, and Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony have selected only the very best when it comes to their wedding jewelry – Platinum. Aside from its physical beauty, couples prefer Platinum jewelry because it lasts forever, and its natural white color makes their diamonds sparkle. Unlike other metals, Platinum wedding rings won’t wear down over time. Â
Celebrities aren’t alone in their desire for Platinum. According to the Wall Street Journal (2007), there is a global boom in the bridal jewelry business and over half of engaged women feel that having “the best†is more important than price (2007 American Wedding Study: Bridal Redefined by Condé Nast Bridal Media). Top designers around the globe, including Tacori, De Beers, Ritani and Kwiat, are continuing to produce star-worthy pieces that cater to a variety of tastes in all price ranges – with Platinum as the metal of choice for engagement rings and women’s & men’s wedding bands. Â
Â
In addition to engagement rings and wedding bands, brides are also choosing Platinum accessories to wear on their wedding day including Rebecca Romijn, who wore Platinum and diamond bangle bracelets by Neil Lane when she walked down the aisle.

Is yellow gold going out of fashion for engagement rings and wedding rings, do you think? I still like it, but I see it’s getting harder to find quality rings in anything other than white gold and platinum these days.
Yellow gold will never really go out of fashion for engagement rings and wedding rings. But that is only my opinion.
