Premier Luxury Hotel Setai San Diego Will Open Its Doors December 2008
By Denise • Nov 12th, 2008 • Category: News, Press ReleasesA new premier luxury hotel, Setai San Diego, is set to open in downtown San Diego’s financial district on December 2008. The new 184-room, 23-story hotel is part of the Preferred Hotel Group and is designed by the Rockwell Group.
The property will boast of luxury amenities which includes the usual gourmet restaurant, and spa, as well as a rooftop pool and deck, a recording studio, a private screening room, an exlusive Grand Penthouse and a 20,000 square foot event and meeting space. It isa said to be beautiful, sophisticaed and artful.
General Manager Craig Waterman assures Bussiness Wire that “Setai San Diego is the perfect destination for an urban retreat, and we are delighted to be able to offer discerning travelers and luxury-seekers the highest standards in service, design, and amenities.”
If the hotel’s front doors - two custom-made 9,000-pound bronze pivot doors - are to be the basis, then the Setai San Diego definitely has it made. The lobby has black ebon columns that are decorated with “turquoise patina beads, teardrop crystals, Nepali carpets, silver leaf covered walls and shagreen upholstery”.
The hotel’s 184 rooms, including 37 suites and three penthouse suites, incorporate sophisticated luxury, using elements such as fine custom made linens, leather furniture, rich drapery, Jerusalem bone limestone finishes in the bathrooms, Brazilian walnut flooring, and Sapelli woods. Seventeen one-bedroom suites feature generously sized balconies, outfitted with chaise lounges and providing expansive city views. Twenty larger Luxe Suites come equipped with full Italian kitchens, Miele and Sub Zero appliances, full living rooms, balconies, private bedrooms and baths. South-facing suites feature expansive balconies with floor-to-ceiling NanaWall windows, opening to give guests literally an open wall of stunning city, ocean and bay views.
There are also three penthouses suites, which includes the most exclusive and largest suite on the West Coast, the 8,000 square-foot Grand Penthouse, for the ultimate jet-setting experience. It consists of three bedrooms and three full baths, an Italian kitcen, dining room and bar, six flat screen TVs, a rooftop patio terrace with its own private sundeck, a Jacuzzi tub, chaise-lounge beds and a private massage area, not to mention a 360 degree view of the city.
