Ernst Benz launches a new precision timepiece designed for the world traveler – the ChronoFlite WorldTimer.  Ernst Benz Designer and Managing Director Leonid Khankin, shares his fascination of the history of world timers and aviation design in this new timepiece.

Inspired by the traditional world timers of the 1940s and 1950s, the era when aviation and travel became prominent, Khankin designed his ChronoFlite WorldTimer for the discriminating world traveler, whether it be a pilot for aviation, an executive that travels and corresponds abroad, or an adventurous world explorer.  The new timepiece continues to reflect the Ernst Benz brand’s Great Circle evolving theme of travel and exploration.

The watch’s dial was designed with concentric circles to look like a globe with lines that cut the dial into twenty-four sections to correspond with the different time zones. . The timepiece’s main feature is a rotating bezel indicating major cities for each time zone that the owner can use to track time throughout the world simultaneously.  To do so the watch incorporates a fourth red “GMT” hand that makes only one revolution in a twenty-four hour period keeping GMT time on an inner ring scale numbered from two to twenty-four.  The hand’s function is to provide a second time zone, or for world time can be rotated to allow you to keep a fixed location, which can be used to realize time throughout the world.  Ernst Benz is one of a few brands that produces their WorldTimer with Daylight Savings Time accounted for; this adjustment for the time change is indicated by the “S” next to half the cities listed on the watch.

The ChronoFlite WorldTimer will be offered with either a black or white dial featuring Ernst Benz’s signature aeronautical inspired propeller hands and available with either an alligator strap or signature stainless steel bracelet.  Like all Ernst Benz Great Circle models, the watch features an exhibition back, which allows the wearer to observer the mechanical movement.

From Ernst Benz comes another exceptional precision timepiece, providing unrivaled legibility and accuracy, a watch that helps keep time around the globe in multiple time zones, giving the wearer the ability to live life on their own terms.  The ChronoFlite WorldTimer will retail for $5100 with alligator strap and for $5200 with stainless steel bracelet.
