King George Palace, a Hotel for the Gods
By Denise • Oct 9th, 2008 • Category: TravelI am absolutely obsessed with planning my vacation to Greece next year. I haven’t actually started getting the details and all but I already have an idea (a list more like it) of the great things I want to do, and another list of where I want to stay.
What first caught my attention is the King George Palace, a five-star hotel in Athens, Greece, located right there on the “Prestigious Syntagma Constitution Square In The Heart Of The Business, Historical And Shopping District Of Downtown Athens, The Cultural Capital Of Europe”. It is also said to be the home to kings, princes and presidents since 1936.
The King George Palace was refurbished in 2002 with 112 gorgeously-decorated rooms that would drop any guest into the lap of luxury. What sold me to this hotel is that it offers a spectacular view of the Acropolis, the first and most important part of Greek of my Greek visit. And get this, the Presidential Suite has a private indoor pool!

The hotel also features function rooms and a fully-equipped fitness center, as well as dining rooms that offer Greek and international cuisines. I don’t really care about the international. I will totally go Greek or Mediterranean when I get there. The Tudor restaurant on the 7th floor actually has an impressive view of Athens and the Acropolis.
A room can cost at least $905 a night! Whew!
I think, when I finally get to Greece, I would definitely die happy and flit my way to the Elysian Fields. I can’t wait for my vacation!
