Piaget continues to strengthen its longstanding relationship with Hollywood and the creative arts by becoming a sponsor of this year’s 23rd Annual Independent Spirit Awards.  A firm known as a champion of creative thinking with a passion for the arts is proud to be a first year title-sponsor of the Independent Spirit Awards honoring the individuals who have mastered artistic expression in film.  Cinema and the arts has been a truly important source of inspiration for Piaget and making the choice to sponsor this year’s event a natural decision.

In honor of the award show weekend, Piaget hosted a suite at the Casa Del Mar Hotel displaying an array of their latest red carpet offerings including stunning jewelry and timepieces from its newest collection “Paris to New York” set to launch this coming April.  A breathtaking “Casino-themed” necklace showcasing 3157 brilliant-cut diamonds (23.17 ct), 4 white opals, and 83 rock crystals, along with white gold and diamond Limelight Paris New York earrings, inspired by the Eiffel tower and featuring 192 brilliant-cut diamonds (25.08 ct) and 43 pear-cut diamonds (7.8) cts were  just a few of the elaborate  new pieces elegantly showcased throughout the showroom allowing celebrities and stylists a sneak peak at Piaget’s exquisite jewelry flown in from Switzerland for the special occasion.
 
Despite a rainy day at the beach, Hollywood’s starlets brought sparkle to the sand dazzling on the blue carpet in Piaget pieces.  Zoe Saldana chose Piaget’s dramatic pearl and white gold cocktail ring encrusted with 154 brilliant-cut diamonds paired with “Honey inspired” white gold and diamonds drop earrings.  Lisa Kudrow wore Piaget’s Possession matching earrings and necklace in white gold and diamond sautoir with black jade.  Oscar winner, Javier Bardem wore Piaget’s rose gold rectangle L’Ancienne watch.  Irfran Khan sported Piaget’s rose gold square Altiplano watch.  Jada Pinkett Smith selected Piaget’s Possession yellow gold bracelet.  Host Rainn Wilson kept the show running on time with Piaget’s white gold Polo watch.  Dawn Hudson shined in Piaget’s Possession Eiffel Tower from Piaget’s yet to be released Paris to New York collection.  Tamara Podemski wore Piaget’s pink tourmaline and pink sapphire rings.  Anna Kendrick chose Piaget’s champagne inspired earrings with white gold and diamonds.  Maggie Cheung dazzled in Piaget’s white gold discoball ring, Limelight collection white gold and diamond ring, and Piaget’s Magic Hour in white gold with diamond bezel. Emmannuelle Seigner wore Piaget’s classic Possession watch. 
 
Celebrities Lisa Kudrow, Maggie Cheung, and Zoe Salanda were thrilled when given the invite to sit at Piaget’s tables for the awards ceremony.  As a first year title sponsor of the Independent Spirit Awards, Film Independent also honored Piaget by creating “The Piaget Producers Award” given to Neil Kopp Producer of “Paranoid Park” and “Old Joy.” After walking the red carpet Hollywood A-listers Javier Bardem, Josh Hartnett, Sienna Miller, Cate Blanchett, Keri Russell, Zoe Saldana, Maggie Cheung and Tamara Podemski escaped in Piaget’s exclusive VIP backstage lounge with Piaget CEO Philippe Leopold-Metzger and North America President Larry Boland.  Stars sipped champagne in the privacy of the lounge while previewing Piaget’s newest jewelry offerings and watching the award ceremony on flat screen televisions. 
 
Sponsoring the Independent Spirit Awards is the latest effort Piaget has developed in support of entertainment and the arts.  The firm is on the rise in Hollywood involving itself with film premieres, young designers, and most recently opening its first West Coast boutique location at Las Vegas shopping haven, The Shoppes at the Palazzo.  Following Las Vegas, expect to see Piaget head further west to South Coast Plaza, California as the firm plans to open its first boutique this coming year, with additional plans for expansion to Rodeo Drive.
